New Graduate Certificate Available in Criminal Justice

The College of Criminal Justice is introducing an online Graduate Certificate Program this spring to help professionals in the field with career advancement.

The Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management is designed for working professionals in law enforcement, corrections and victim services to assist with professional growth and career development. The 18-hour program is structured so it can be completed in a year, and it can be applied toward a Master’s degree in the future.

SHSU Shares National Award as Part of Houston Police Departmentment Task Force

The College of Criminal Justice and Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at Sam Houston State University were part of a Houston Police Task Force that received a national award, the Chief David Cameron Award for Excellence in Environmental Crime Enforcement and Education from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, for its work on an environmental case in Houston.

The Task Force also received the Chief of Police Commendation from Houston Chief Charles A. McClelland, Jr.

For the third year in a row, representatives from the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) participated in a ceremony in the city of Kielce, at Homo Homini, the Polish memorial to 9/11, which has come to symbolize the fight against terrorism around the world.
